This Year's P & Starling North Island Regatta was reduced to 4 races sailed on Saturday and Monday due to very strong South westerly winds that cancelled the racing on Sunday.

Regatta organisers started racing early on Monday , but the fleet was decimated by the 30 knot winds and racing was abandoned after one race.

The P Class fleet was dominated by the girls, winning the first 3 places with the winner from Horowhenua.

Despite the big winds, broken & bent masts the regatta was another successful regatta for Torbay with 35 P Class and 82 Starlings.

The Nationals will also be held at Torbay Sailing Club from 28th December - 8th January.
Their next big regatta is the annual Sir Peter Blake Memorial Torbay Regatta on 8-9th December with 350

sailors in 17 classes from all over NZ and overseas.
